Career[edit]

Cyndago[edit]

Kyre started Cyndago in 2012 along with his childhood friend Ryan Magee, after several years of unpublished collaborations. Initially working out of their home state of South Carolina, they moved to Los Angeles, California in early 2015. The duo became known for their comedy sketches, vlogs and humorous songs,[3] and in particular their collaborations with well known YouTube personality Mark Fischbach aka. Markiplier, with several of their videos garnering several million views.[4] Following their move to Los Angeles, they also hired a third member for their group, Matt Watson, who assumed most of the editing duties to allow the others to focus more on creating content. As of September 2015, the Cyndago channel had over 200,000 subscribers.[5]

Outside YouTube[edit]

In addition to creating content for Cyndago, Kyre was an aspiring songwriter and guitarist, frequently posting music on SoundCloud,[6] with much of the music also used for sketches and videos. He also wrote and recorded most of the music used in comedy videos.

Death[edit]

On the afternoon of September 16, 2015, Kyre was found unresponsive in his room in a house he shared with Mark Fischbach, Ryan Magee and Matt Watson, following an apparent suicide attempt. He was rushed to the hospital and placed in intensive care. However, after doctors concluded that he had suffered irreversible brain damage, he died two days later after being taken off life support. The following day, his death was publicly announced by the remaining members of Cyndago in coordination with his family. This announcement also marked the discontinuation of Cyndago's collaborations, Youtube/social media lives, and sketches.[7][8]

His death sparked an outcry of grief on several social media sites, including Twitter and Reddit, and several other well known YouTubers expressed their condolences. Mark Fischbach (Markiplier on YouTube) uploaded a video titled "Lost A Friend" addressing the situation.[9] Fischbach is no longer on a hiatus from making videos due to Kyre's death.
