The first Atlantic Association operated in 1889-1890, with cities from Massachusetts down through Maryland. In its first year, 4 of the 9 teams disbanded during the year. In its second year, 6 of the 8 either disbanded, moved, or left for another league. Baltimore left the league in late August to replace Brooklyn in the American Association. Only New Haven and Newark completed both seasons.

a Few Years later a Thrid Atlantic Association stated with 6 teams that played in 1896

Teams - Hartford CT, Jersey City NJ, New Haven Ct, Newark NJ Paterson NJ, Wilmington DE

The Four Atlantic Association was six-team class D league that operated for less than 3 weeks in 1908. It was based in New England. The league started May 2. Woonsocket dropped out after 1 game, Taunton moved to Attleboro, Pawtucket dropped out on May 19, and the league disbanded on May 21.
